Penrith game in doubt
25 Sep 2012

By Paul McGeary

Tomorrow evenings Ebac Northern League first division game at home to Penrith was today placed in doubt as the club called a pitch inspection following the horrific rain of the past 48-hours.

With no let-up in sight, and Penrith's further than normal travel plans, Aycliffe groundsman Chris Palmer has requested a local referee to run the rule over the Moore Lane Park pitch at 2.30pm on the day of the game.

We will bring you updates as and when we know.

Meanwhile, the club has pulled out of a move for Norton full-back Paul Harvey, despite the move being reported on the website late last night.

Allan Oliver has changed his mind on the 27-year-old left-sider, given the recent form of Stuart Owen and Matthew Coad, who can both operate in the previously problematic berth.
