ASHINGTON PREVIEW
06 Oct 2012

Newton Aycliffe make the difficult trip to Ashington as they look for their first away victory of the campaign.
The club are buoyed by their much improved display away at South Shields on Tuesday night, but know they face a challenging afternoon against the Colliers.

WHO
Ashington have had a mixed start to the season, with their away form letting down their performances at Woodhorn Lane. Only Spennymoor have won away at Ashington this season, and even then they still conceded their first goal of the season. Ashington have scored in every home game, but only Team Northumbria have not managed to find the net against the Colliers. There should be goals ahead.

WHAT
Northern League Division One. Aycliffe remain rooted to the bottom of the league, but are within five points of nine other clubs. A run of victories could easily see the Royal Blues rocket up the table. Ashington will be disappointed with their 12th position, even at this early stage of the season, but are themselves only three points off 4th.
