ESH WINNING PREVIEW
12 Oct 2012

Newton Aycliffe welcome Esh Winning to Moore Lane Park in only the second ever FA Vase game to take place at the ground.
Everybody connected with the two clubs will hope the fixture has a little more entertainment involved than the Royal Blues' goalless draw with local rivals Shildon.

WHO
Esh Winning are currently ninth in the Northern League second division after 12 games. They lie just four points off third after Wednesday night's 6-2 thrashing of Crook Town, but a massive 17 points behind leaders Rhyope, who have scored a staggering 59 goals in 13 games. To reach this stage, Esh have beaten Tadcaster Albion 3-2 and Albion Sports 4-2, but this is their first away tie of the competition.

WHAT
FA Vase first round. After both sides negotiated the qualifying stages, the fixture takes place in the first round proper. There are six more rounds before a two-legged semi-final, meaning Wembley is eight games away for both sides.

WHERE
Moore Lane Park, Aycliffe Sports Club. DL5 5AG

WHEN
Saturday October 13, 3pm kick-off

ADMISSION
£5 adults, £3 concessions.

PROGRAMME
Middlesbrough, England Under-21 and Great Britain goalkeeper Jason Steele is the subject of a special feature, written by club media manager Martin Walker. Steele looks at the FA Vase and speaks about his Sunday League side, Aycliffe WMC, who have entered the All England Cup. The publication also features the usual, exclusive columns from Dan Lewis, Allan Oliver, Sean Tarling and Ray Gowan, and includes information on the club's 'Kids Go Free' initiative ahead of next week's clash with Billingham Synthonia.
