SUNDERLAND RCA PREVIEW
23 Oct 2012

Newton Aycliffe look to pick up their first away victory of the season as they travel north to face Sunderland RCA.

WHO
Sunderland RCA are not too dissimilar to Aycliffe. While Aycliffe are in their second season in the first division, Sunderland are in their third, after their promotion in the 209/10 season. During that campaign, the Ryhope club were beaten twice by Allan Oliver's side, 2-0 and 1-0. But last year they had their revenge, winning 2-0 at Moore Lane Park and drawing 0-0 in the reverse fixture. The game is likely to be just as tight this year, as RCA's last three games have all ended 1-0 (two victories, one defeat).

WHAT
Northern Leage Division One. Aycliffe remain rooted to the bottom of the table, despite the morale-boosting draw with Billingham Synthonia at the weekend. Billingham Town's defeat of South Shields means the Royal Blues are two points behind the Mariners, with Town now four points ahead in 22nd place. Aycliffe have picked up just one point on their travels - away at South Shields.

Sunderland RCA - who finished fourth last year - are in ninth after 14 games.  But they are just four points behind third placed Bedlington Terriers, as the table remains incredibly tight behind the runaway top-two. RCA's away form (four wins and two draws from eight games) is better than their home record (two wins and a draw from six matches).
