Newton Aycliffe FC v Crook Town FC

Aycliffe claimed a valuable point at Crook on Bank Holiday Monday with a battling display at Millfield.
Allan Oliver’s side went 1-0 down again in the first-half before John Close opened his account for the season with a header from a corner, with the referee’s assistant flagging that it crossed the line.
Aycliffe picked up after the equaliser and played the better football in the second half, but neither side carved out much in the way of chances, with Chase McMullen missing a glorious late chance to grab the winner.
