It's four points and two clean sheets now against a Whitehaven side placed second in the table and previously unbeaten on their travels.
If the first half was industrious the second was energetic as 'Haven had no response to Aycliffe's neat passing and endless attacks.
'Keeper Brian Miller was the busiest man on the field, saving three times to keep the score respectable. Ste Richardson at the other end claimed save of the game though, superbly keeping out Kevin Connolly's acrobatics after 10 minutes.
Paul Stout nodded the home side in front, meeting Dion Raitt's corner after 50 minutes and with Miller in inspired form saving brilliantly from Elliot Gardner, Paul Broom and Dan Lennon the feeling was that Aycliffe may fall victim to a late sucker punch.
It wasn't to be though and with Lennon sent clear in the 89th minute and rounding Miller, the covering Robert Fowler could only direct the ball into his own net to seal the points for Aycliffe.
