Newton Aycliffe crashed out of their final cup competition of the season in disappointing fashion.
Allan Oliver's side were dumped out of the League Cup with a below-par performance against first division side Chester-le-Street.
Aycliffe were still in the changing rooms when the visitors raced into a two-goal lead inside the first five minutes.
Rob Draper hammered in a loose ball after a scramble inside the penalty area when Aycliffe failed to clear a corner, and prolific striker Nathan Fisher - the league's top scorer - bagged his 26th goal of the season just two minutes later, coolly slotting past Ste Richardson just inside the penalty area.
Aycliffe got to grips eventually and Elliot Gardner provided a lifeline just before the half-hour mark when he jumped to glance Stuart Owen's left-wing cross past veteran shot-stopper Ian Aitken.
The home side were still in the game until eight minutes after half-time when Draper bagged his second of the game from close range to all-but kill the tie off.
Robbie Bird made sure of it after 65 minutes, though, when he completed a smart move, volleying in first time from a left-sided cross.
Dion Raitt pulled a second goal back for Aycliffe with 15 minutes to go, converting from the penalty spot after Luke Gilhespy up-ended Owen inside the area, but it was too little, too late.
