Newton Aycliffe’s revival came to an end when they were beaten 3-0 at home by Guisborough tonight.
Aycliffe went behind after just 4 minutes when Damien Stevens headed in a left wing cross by Danny McWilliams, and Guisborough then went on to miss chances through James Risborough and Stevens again, although Conor Winter went close for Aycliffe at the other end.
In the second half, Guisborough went 2-0 up when former Aycliffe player Danny Earl broke down the left, and curled a right foot shot beyond stranded Aycliffe keeper Baz Poskett. Another former Aycliffe player, James Risborough scored from a rebound after Poskett parried an Earl shot.
