Newton Aycliffe retained their 4th place position in the Ebac Northern League Division One with a hard fought encounter at Billinghamh Town. Liam McNamara's headed goal in the 62nd minute proved the difference between the two sides. The Newtonians are one of three sides on 25pts but have three games in hand on Consett who are third.
Aycliffe's next match is on Wednesday 23 October (kick off 7:45pm) when they travel to Brandon United in the Durham Challenge Cup. They return to league action on Saturday 26 October when they make the short trip to Bishop Auckland (ko 3:00pm)
