New Manager Appointed

Newton Aycliffe FC is delighted to announce that Mark Wood has returned to the Club to take up the role of Manager.
 

Mark returns to his hometown Club having previously served as Assistant Manager under first Col Stromsoy & then Brian Atkinson.

Mark's association with the Club stretches back almost two decades having joined as an 18 year old. Mark served as a player & captain for a number of seasons in various positions including one memorable occasion as goalkeeper.

Mark said:
“I am looking forward to returning to Aycliffe. The hard work starts now as we look to build a competitive squad in a tough league. I’m relishing the challenge & pleased to be back working with Allan.”
Mark has asked Neil Dodds to join him as Assistant Manager. Another Aycliffe lad, Neil has extensive experience in local football & has had a long association with Mark.

Chairman Allan Oliver said:
“I’m delighted that Mark has decided to return to the Club to take over as Manager. He’s Aycliffe through & through with substantial Northern League experience. I’m sure he & Neil will put together a squad that can be competitive in the Northern League.”
