Newton Aycliffe FC Strengthen Backroom Staff

Appointment of Experienced Sports Therapist

Newton Aycliffe FC is delighted to announce the final addition to its 2025/26 management and support team - Emily Robertson, who joins the club as Lead Sports Therapist.

Emily brings a high level of professionalism, expertise, and dedication to her new role, where she will play a vital part in supporting the squad's physical health and long-term performance. Working in close collaboration with management team members Brian, Richie and Andy, Emily will take the lead on all aspects of injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.

She will be responsible for delivering immediate on-pitch care during both training sessions and competitive fixtures, as well as overseeing detailed recovery programmes tailored to each player's specific needs. Her proactive and structured approach will ensure players return to peak condition as efficiently and safely as possible - key to maintaining consistent performance levels throughout the season.

Emily holds a degree in Sport, Exercise & Rehabilitation from Northumbria University and has an extensive portfolio of additional qualifications and certifications within the field of sports therapy. Her academic and practical background equips her with the knowledge and skills needed to support players across all levels of physical conditioning and injury management.

Having previously worked with teams competing in the Northern League, Northern Premier League East, and the Northern Premier League Premier Division, Emily brings with her a wealth of hands-on experience in the fast-paced environment of semi-professional football.

Her ability to remain calm under pressure, combined with her strong communication and clinical decision-making skills, make her an outstanding addition to the club.

Emily’s role will be pivotal in helping to maintain player availability and performance consistency throughout what promises to be a highly competitive campaign. Newton Aycliffe FC is thrilled to welcome her to the team and looks forward to the positive influence she will bring both on and off the pitch.
